Minister: Second unit of BelNPP will go online by 2023 year-end
udf.byThe construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is on the home stretch, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel on 12 March, BelTA has learned. Plans are in place to launch the second unit by the end of this year.
Speaking about the key tasks, the minister highlighted safety as the primary focus. «All the works and activities that need to be carried out should verify both the safety and reliability of all equipment and technological systems,» he emphasized. «We are currently preparing for starting a controlled chain reaction and bringing the reactor to the minimum controlled capacity.
